Discussion:
[TYPO3] High-availability TYPO3 hosting needed

I have need for a TYPO3 high-availability hosting package. The 99.999%
annual uptime must be backed by a service level agreement.

The site in question deals with disaster preparedness and response. As
such, the website must be available even when things are going bad for
the US East Coast or West Coast.

Alternately, a 5-minute roll-over failsafe or load balanced solution
between US East and West coast and central locations is possible.

A system with 1 GB disk space and 10 GB bandwidth should suffice for
the next year.

If you can provide the servicing needed above or know of who can,
please contact me directly.

Thank you.

Hi Michael

May you should ask SERVAGE.net, naw.info both are providing clustered
hosting solutions. What about those amazon services?

The problem with providers like SERVAGE is that although they do
clusteren,
they cannot garentee a high uptime.

TO do this you need to have full control of the complete chain,
from DNS to the finest grain of the servers..
Only then you can setup failover solutions properly.

OK then you also can forget naw.info as they even only offer clustered TYPO3
- hmm

This shows the lack of documentation of availiablility and scalability
of typo.

We do have the same tasks to answer, but did not find very much when
looking through web.

By the way, as far as we know does naw.info not offer hosting.

It would be good to have a discussion about availiablility and
scalability of typo3

Check the backside of T3N/11 for naw.info
it seems to be very new. You are absolutly right about the documentation and
scalability docs. Perhaps we could discuss this one time here.

Thanks a lot Christian for the info

At T3CON last year, there was a presentation about using MySQL
clustering with "Sequoia", I believe. It was very abstract, but still a
good demonstration.

+1 for a discussion/documentation of a cluster set up for maximum Typo3
performance and related info.

Yes - search the newsgroup for T3CON 07 DVDs, they're on bittorrent. The
demonstration is on the first DVD.

There is no such thing as "typo" here. It is TYPO3 and nothing else.

Mittwald.de offers TYPO3 clustering.

Hi Michael,

i did the big download of HA on DVD1 with Jean de Luc.

And i found, what i accepted. The HA of filesystem is done with drdb+,

which is only availiable on Linux and the + Version also costs ca 2000
Euro/Year for maintainance.

This is what i like to have: find a way for any platform, possible to
use for everyone.

Thus, i guess, the way to work with a file mirroring and database
replication seems to be the way to go.o
